Hello Niels!

Wednesday January 02 2019 10:25, you wrote to me:

I assume you are referring to menu 1.12 setup ?

Here I do use it to pick up some usegroups with 13 set to Own maildomain, 16 =
NNTP feed

1.2 set as 2 my public email address as gmail.com
1.3 as my email user for 1.2. but these are more for the automated msgs that
are issued on receiving new files.

I suggest you follow the recommendations as per the manual see page 20 under
1.12 which says set to 'no maildomain' which will use SMTP or as in my case
own maildomain as I have a permanent internet connection.

and yes I also use postfix but that is for internal mail to ensure all system
generated msgs get to me which I read using my normal email client
thunderbird - note that I use golded for echos and netmails.

Yes I could change this even using thunderbird for fido but cannot be bothered
to work out how to.

My recommendation would be keep email processing seperate from fido but I do
not read fido every day but read emails multi time per day so I suppose I
should consider setting up thunderbird but there again I have other stuff to
do
on the system such as software development and manual writing :)
