Hello Deepend! 14 Dec 15 03:16, you wrote to Daryl Stout: De> Under windows I had it installed as a service.. In linux it was a bit De> more of a fight for me. Since I De> have to specify IP addresses for my binkp nodes to connect to instead De> of being able to specify hostnames. (hostnames wont resolve in the De> linux version no matter what I do) This is due to changes in Linux since IRex was released. IRex for Linux came out when the kernel was at 2.4.x. IIRC, changes to DNS resolving in kernel 2.6.x broke the library that Charles Cruden used in the Linux version of IRex. The only solution is to do one of 2 things: 1. Specify all connections via IP address instead of hostname. 2. Switch away from IRex. BinkD is known to work well in currrent versions of Linux, along with mbcico (the mailer included with MBSE BBS), ifcico, and a few others.
