MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06
 
      Title: Sergio's Black Beans
 Categories: Five, Beans, Vegetbles
      Yield: 3 servings
 
      1 lb Dry black beans
           Water
    1/2 c  Yellow onion; chopped
           Salt
           Chopped garlic
 
  Put dry black beans in a pot.
  
  Cover with water, with about an inch to spare.
  
  Add onion, salt, and garlic
  
  Bring to a boil, and then turn down to a high simmer.
  
  Cover the pot.
  
  Check on the pot periodically, to be sure that the pot
  is not dry (without water).
  
  Cook until the beans are tender.
  
  The cooking time is different at different altitudes.
  The time is approximately 2 - 3 hours.
