Sean Dennis wrote to Al Kaiser Subject: Digital modes AK>> fldig will not work with my Yaesu FTdx5000MP. I am not the AK>> only one who can't get it to work. It works SD> well enough with my FT-450D. flrig works quite well and has enough SD> features for me to use it. Well guess what I got it working. First thing was to ask the author of fldigi who suggested a new method of hooking the advantage throught the back packet port rather through the front microphone audio. Next I went to the tech support at West Mountain Radio asking for that cable and sending part of the reply and the diagram to them. I got a quick answer back saying that was not necessary and giving me a suggestion on what setting to use on the program. Well what do you know five minutes later it was working and no need for a new cable. So now I am able to configure both the 5000 and the 867D to fldigi. SD> I love Feld Hell. I'm a member of the Feld Hell Club (#6163). SD> But I rarely hear anyone use it. I have tried calling CQ over SD> around 7.084 at night but usually nothing. We have used that mode in county hunters but there are not many if any mobiles that are active digitally which is too bad becayse I an at 74,9% of all the U.S. counties worked on digital. I do pick up a new one on FT8 once in a while but they are few and far between. I've got a few on 6 and 12 meters which have both been open. 6 meters was open to Canada, Bermuda, Brazil and Washington State here last week. 40 meters has been good and I have picked up a few new countries in the last week or so, New Caladonia, (rare for me because of my antenna), Finland, Gibralter and one or two others. Wating for them to connfirm LBOTW. -73- -=> Al Kaiser n1api@cox.net <=- Stay Healthy 'n Wealthy! Al Kaiser - Meriden, CT, 24-May-2019 at 7:02. Fido : 1:142/926 - Internet : n1api@cox.net .!.
