Even then Echolink isn't always active.  I am about to order something I have 
been wanting for a very long time: a new EFHW HF antenna from myantennas.com 
(the guy is a ham who used to design antennas for Cushcraft).  10-80 meters, 
no tuner required (though I will still use one).  I haven't been on the air in 
months.  Missing it.  Rearranging my tiny 8x10' shack to allow me to not only 
use my Yaesu FT-450D but to finally hook up my Kenwood TS-430S also.  That 
Kenwood has some lovely audio.

Side note: I just renewed my SKYWARN spotter certification.  Evidently SKYWARN 
in my area is in shambles...which doesn't surprise me at all.
