A lot of things have defaults.  Nevertheless...

I'm using FMAIL at present in a Linux 'beta' test, for over the last year. 
It's a dog, and very much tied to supporting a FrontDoor configuration.  It
works wih BSO but it's a dog.  Oops, I already said that.

I used FastEcho for over 20 years but it has the same limitations as CM: don't
try zonegating, as you can't turn it off (in a technical sense).  OTOH, it does
 wonderfully at feeding downlinks.
