Hello Charles! 30 Nov 18 03:18, you wrote to All: CS> Not sure what echo to ask this in, but I figured This might be a good CS> place. Has anyone ever used a Grandstream VOIP Device with their BBS? If it is a ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter), it can be used, provided you have a Telepfone provider to connect to. It is the only way to get on the grid. In short, if you can connect an analog telephone and make voice call, you should be able to connect a modem instead. Do not expect high data rates, the fancy modulations to accomplish those, will not survive passing the codecs used for Voip. I have a Handy Tone-286 (ATA) and a Budge Tone-100 (Desk phone), as far as Grandstream is concerned. Both connect to a PBX. I dumped my BBS before I started experimenting with Voip. Fidonet over Voip is not efficient. Kees --- GoldED+/LNX 1.1.5 * Origin: As for me, all I know is that, I know nothing. (2:280/5003.4) |
