Mark Lewis sent me an email last night letting us know that he himself was OK,
but some of his property was damaged. He had no electric because of the storm
damage until last night. Some of his drives won't initialize now..  Here is
part of his message:

"I have to check out my well house tomorrow and see if there was any damage
before i turn the power back on to it and see if we can pump water... my well
house is 6 feet tall and it was completely underwater in that 10 feet [of
water] that covered my driveway... Hurricane Fran in 1996 was bad but this was
a lot worse... Fran only flooded half way up the well house... Florence had to
submerge the whole thing"

I am just so glad he is ok.  I hope he is able to get past all the destruction
Florence probably caused in his area...

Also in Mark's Region is Ed Koon, sysop of Doc's Place bbs.  While I have not
been able to connect to his mailer in several days, last night I was able to
get through and delivered a (probably) large number of packets and archives 

So I hope Region 18 (the South East US and Caribbean) is returning to life
though most likely slowly.
