* Originally in fido_sysop * Crossposted in fn_sysop * Crossposted in z1_sysop * Crossposted in synchronet i came home from town the other day, 2018 Aug 13, and found my father had left this earthly realm for the next one in his journey... there will be visitation at L. Harold Poole Funeral Home in Knightdate, NC tomorrow, 2018 Aug 16, from 11:00am until 1:00pm... there will be a short graveside service with full military honors at 2:00pm at the New Knightdate Baptist Church Cemetary... if you are in the area, you are welcome to come by... Rest In Peace, Dad... to those who know me, i'm doing OK... i'm still processing everything... my father is why i am here, physically and figuratively... when i returned home some 25+ years ago, i learned that he had had a heart attack several years before... no one had told me... he was divorced (2nd time) by then and living by himself... he had to drive himself to the hospital the next day... i decided then that he would never be here alone again in case this happened again... a few years back i carried him into the doctor with a "cramp" between his shoulder blades... a "cramp" that wouldn't go away... i brought him home a month later after a quad by-pass... i was his caretaker and nurse during that time... things have been very good since then but he has been slowing down... he was finally able to break the 200lb (90.72kg, 14.29stone) barrier... his last weigh-in at the doctor's office placed him at 197 fully clothed... finding him the other day came as a shock... it was expected but not like this and not this soon... but i'm still here and i'm doing OK... i'm taking care of his 20somthing Toulouse geese, 15 or so chickens, 6 cats, 2 guinea fowl and one English Foxhound named Brody... he and i planted ~200 walnut trees in our "front field" several years ago... we should have planted them when we first moved here... they would be harvestable by now and help to make this transition easier... instead i hope to see them grow and be useful over the next 20+ years... i'm going to get off of here, now... i need to try to eat... i haven't eaten in two days... a couple of bites here and there but nothing to speak of really... )\/(ark Always Mount a Scratch Monkey Do you manage your own servers? If you are not running an IDS/IPS yer doin' it wrong... ... There never was a night or problem that could defeat sunrise or hope. --- * Origin: (1:3634/12.73) |
