NY now allows illegals to obtain driver licenses. But is that a good thing
for them?

Can they get their licenses without any proof of identity? How do we know if
they had DWIs in their home countries? Is the NY driver license a gateway
towards citizenship? If so, then great, but is citizenship something
desirable at this point? If you need health insurance, it's better to not be
a citizen - better to be an illegal and go to Cali for your medical needs.

Are illegals in NY flocking to the DMV? Will they put their real address on
the license?

Andrew Cuomo said that illegals with driver licenses are less likely to flee
the scene of an accident. But from my experience, illegals don't have
insurance anyway - ask my wife's banged up car. So if you're illegal, what is
your incentive to stick around after a crash?

I think this move is just a flexing of democrat muscle. If you want to put
America first, then this is a blow to your conservative authority. Same thing
with the last-minute abortion bill. Want to protect the unborn? Democrats
will show you who's boss in NY.
