Not really because such movies do not sell well in Japan. When I met my Japanese friend in 1973, he was largely ignorant about Japan's role in WW2 (and prior to that in China). It wasn't being talked about. And I remember when in 1995 visiting the USS Arizona memorial in Pearl Harbor the large groups of Japanese tourists visiting there knowing they were going to visit the wreck of a large ship that exploded there but having no clue about the "why".
