SW> Once a person is elected to office they deserve the respect the SW> Presidency gives them. That is correct, but respect also must be earned, does not free-flow with the title. SW> The Dems have done nothing but "bash" the Presidential office. In turn SW> every putz in congress and the media thinks they can do a better job. So what else is new? I live a continent away and it's the same here ... people in office will be bashed, comes with the job. Can't stand the heat? Open a candy store. But looking at it from an international perspective, the current President has been the most disruptive for as far as I can recollect and that starts with the final days of Eisenhower. I cycled through 12 of them. Internationally, everyone of those Presidents was honoured and duly respected ... everyone, except Trump. The cheering section promoting him sounds like a mantra, repeat it long enough and it'll stick, like the Hare Krishna followers ... Hare Krisna Hare Krisna Krisna Krisna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare Even the New York Times swallows the fake news and by doing so promotes it to real news ... Trump twittered the unemploymency was at an all-time low in March I think. Technically correct but only because of the about 400,000 people who retired and whose jobs became vacant only 200,000 were filled and the other 200,000 scrapped. Statistically correct statement by the President but the reality got a little bit worse ... And let's not forget the US military which consists mainly of unemployed people unable to land a real job. President Trump is notorious for lying and manipulating. There are in the meantime several websites from respected research institutes, not the dingbats from Breitbart or FoxNews, listing the Trump inaccuracies/lies which are nevertheless being sucked-up by his supporters. And he can just continue doing that unpunished because Congress is powerless through division ... "We The People" ? Not since January 20 2017. Here's a list of recent Trump-nonsens ... http://www.politifact.com/personalities/donal... In the last few months, his statements were ... True 31 (5%) Mostly True 72 (11%) Half True 96 (14%) Mostly False 141 (21%) False 230 (34%) Pants on Fire 101 (15%) And I didn't invent those figures. Trump figured he was getting to the Nobel Peace Prize while dealing with North Korea while "Rocket Man" was making a fool of him and showing he was the better politician and the whole world laughed, except the people citing the mantra ... they take it for real. Trump has destabilized world-trade which is recovering by mostly slicing the US out of its deals because the US is not a stable trusted partner. World peace, for as much as it exists, depends on stable trade as demonstrated by the EU in Europe and by de-stabilizing that trade, Trump has turned the World into a more dangerous place. I'm amazed that so many people fail to recognize this. And it goes beyond party-borders. The world is anxiously awaiting someone else, Rep or Dem doesn't matter. Pence would do fine, he is welcomed at NATO meetings more friendly than Trump. During Trump's first 2 visits the welcoming committee prepared 2 versions, one said "Welcome President Trump", the other "Welcome President Pence". Just to be on the safe side. \%/@rd --- D'Bridge 3.99 SR41 * Origin: Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards (2:292/854) |
