I think of it as 'right is right' and 'left is wrong'. That also works in
escalators and stairways. When you pass (overtake) another car, you're
driving on the wrong side of the road, which is allowed for as long as it
takes to do so without endangering an oncoming car who is traveling the
right way on his side of the road.

If the Aussies do that, then they are half right...only wrong when they
drive.
