wow! i can't even find the UUCP maps any more... i was listed in them for a
number of years before we got dialup internet and switched GIGO to using the
addon package...

UUCICO is simply the transport mechanism... one can use pretty much any one out
 there... the last one i used was FXUUCICO which was much much better than the
previous UUCICO i had been using... FXUUCICO is still available, too... not
sure what OSes it supports, though...

so what tool are you using to do the actual conversion from the .DAT and .XQT
files you receive? are you converting them to FTN PKTs and then tossing??
