You can take a look at it here: http://www.free-av.com/ Avira PE is easier to setup and run than Avast, however, the free version displays a "nag ad" when it updates itself to the latest files and signatures. A click of the mouse and the ad goes away. It's not bothersome at all and uses very little resources. I installed with ~1GB available in a VM and it runs fine, at least in a stripped condition. The task manager shows <400MB in use with Windows Defender and Avira AV software running. BTW, the install, including a 1.3GB swap file, was ~5.2GB. -- Jeff Guerdat If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5a * Origin: FidoTel & QWK on the Web! www.fidotel.com (1:124/311) =========================================================================== BBS: Doc's Place Bbs Online Date: 02-25-09 (20:28) Number: 72404 From: JEFF GUERDAT Refer#: NONE To: KEVIN KLEMENT Recvd: NO Subj: Re: COMODO Firewall Conf: (494) WIN95 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ID: PX/Win v3.0pr5a PX96-0746M2 SGID: 1:124/311 0eead070 ZUTC: -0600 Kevin Klement wrote: > Hi Jeff, > > If your still using COMODO's fire wall with Avira, be careful, I was getting > mega page faults, and I checked out COMODO's forum and found out COMODO's HDD > access code is pretty junkey. Interesting - I've had no problems at all. Maybe because of running in a VM the BIOS/HDD is more generic or the use of the drivers supplied by the VM vendor (Sun), leading to less chance of an issue?
