The move towards the metric system in USA has already began, with the
children at school learning it, and young people having recently left
school, or are studying at universitys and high schools, are using it
in their daily life.

It's the older generation that refuse to learn and use it, that are the
block on the road.

My generation of people on this side of "the pond", don't know much
about inches, feet or miles because they don't have any use of that
knowledge.

Regarding myself, having been interested in ham radio in the early
teens, and having access only to american litterature/magazines, in the
matter, understanding that ancient system of measures, was necessary.
