GN Ed because your msg is timed 00:25,

HG> What Win10 Telemetry situation?? Never heard of such a thing.

EV> I learned of it at www.askwoody.com .

Problem for you is that you read too much.
I have never seen any mention that such a thing exists.

EV> I don't like being on the "Bleeding Edge" as You know ......

HG> Well, after all Win3.1 wasn't too bad after all, especially when
 HG> upgraded to WFWG 3.11.

EV> In Win3.1 if a program started getting messed up I could look at the
EV> .INI file and try to see what may be causeing problems.

According to information I have, you do have the Acronis backup program.
Why not use it to take a full backup, an image, every once in a while
when the machine works as it should, make an update to the image.

EV> With this XP pc when it shuts off it saves My "personal settings"
EV> even when the OS has really messed something up.

Then, when the machine misbehaves, use the Acronis Startup Recovery to
set the machine back to a working point. An update to the image is fast.

EV> I have tried looking for where XP saves that "personal settings" so
EV> I could delete it and let the computer recreate a new one.

With the aid of Acronis, you can yourself save those "personal settings"

Just use what you have!

EV> Hope You get a chuckle from the TAGLINE I picked for this message.
EV> If not, then I'm in REAL TROUBLE.

I don't pick taglines, I just let the program pick one at random.
If it happens to be too objectional, I can let it pick another.
