Ed, EV>Buying a replacement battery whenever needed was my idea in buying the EV>third UPS five years ago. EV>If I had noticed the door on the second UPS I would've got a battery for EV>it instead of buying the third unit. I would hope I can do likewise in mine. The 3 UPS's I have now are HEAVY...in weight, but also in protection. However, I'm still going to unplug things when storms threaten. Speaking of which, there is a severe weather potential here late this week. And, in the longer range, one of the models (the GFS in particular), is showing a winter storm for the region. Now, the GFS is cold biased, anyway...and anything more than 3 days out, forecast wise, is a "crap shoot", taken with a grain of salt. But, if that forecast still held 2 days out instead of 2 weeks, I'd be concerned. As I've noted before...in Arkansas, if there's either one snowflake, one sleet pellet, one freezing raindrop, or a combination of the above, it's PANIC TIME. A local TV meteorologist issues a GROCERY STORE WARNING, and places like Kroger and Wal-Mart get SLAMMED. I don't know which combination sells out first...bread and milk, or beer and toilet paper. EV>I learn as I live. Don't we all.
