In a message on Monday 11-06-16 Roger Nelson said to Holger Granholm:

Good morning again Roger,

 HG> Hejsan = Howdy Roger,

RN> I thought that meant "Hello".

It's a hello that mostly is used between friends you know, while 'Hej'
is mostly used between people that you are not familiar with.

RN> UTC+6 here this morning. I suppose the majority of the people
RN> wanted DST. Nobody asked me.

Most people here are fed up with 'summer time', not least the farmers.
Actually, we want to use swedish, ie. west european time, because the
only official language here is swedish, despite that the rest of Finland
is officially a bi-lingual country.

We are enjoying swedish TV and radio programs, but we also have the
finnish channels available.

The problem is, that swedish time is UTC +1hr and finnish time is UTC +2
also called east-european-time (eet), but we are a west european country

HG> Lately my body has accepted the time change very well, but even

RN> My body still rebells against it.

I don't understand why my body doesn't rebell anymore.

HG> it seemed to be very similar to Unix, (that we call Linux), with
HG> commands like mount etc, for adding capabilities.

RN> I didn't get into the DOS part of it because at the time, I was more
RN> interested in the BASIC functions it used. Very similar to IBM or
RN> MS BASIC and I had only that one Amiga BASIC program to convert.

I left Basic very soon after having acquired my first computer 1982.

To make large and fast programs I started using assembler, and later
I learned Turbo Pascal and also tried Turbo C. I stuck with Pascal.

Regards,

Holger
