it probably will work as long as there's at least 2 to 4 Gig available... i've
been watching my memory usage when i run it and it doesn't use 8Gig at all... i
think they've listed that to cover their backsides and there's that the OS is
going to take a chunk for itself, too...

AI> It's quite possible I should upgrade that but 4GB has worked well for

the main thing is your video card and having as up-to-date drivers as
possible... if they can do vulkan, great! if they cannot, you may have to force
opengl usage... it should detect which can be used but some systems
don't/can't... mine is one of those but mainly because my OS is now old and
EoL... i've been running JH via command line script pretty much since i
received access to it...

my system has a NVIDIA GeForce GT730 with 1 or 2 Meg RAM on it... my OS is
kubuntu 14.04.6 and i have whatever Steam is available for that platform but i
had to copy a newer libSDL.so file into the JH directory because the one with
Steam on my system is missing some functions... those on winwhatever should not
have the problems or restrictions i have on my system... at some point, i must
bite the bullet and run the OS upgrade scripts... but first i have to figure
out where i can back up a 1TB drive just in case things go sideways :?

Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set
them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.
