...DISCUSSION...
The upper-level pattern during the Day 4-8 period will evolve from
an initially more zonal flow over the northern U.S. to a more
amplified pattern with broad troughs over the eastern and northwest
U.S.  Concurrently, the upper-level high over the southwest U.S.
will shift east into the central Rockies/adjacent Plains with
ridging extending north into the northern Plains. Several embedded
impulses of varying strength will likely rotate around the upper
high and within the stronger flow aloft during the period leading to
episodic severe potential, however timing/spatial differences
preclude areal delineation with this outlook.
