Concerning...Severe Thunderstorm Watch 516...518... Valid 172238Z - 180015Z The severe weather threat for Severe Thunderstorm Watch 516, 518 continues. SUMMARY...A cluster of storms currently moving out of northeast Maryland will continue to pose a damaging wind threat as it move northeast through the evening. DISCUSSION...Storms have congealed into a cluster in northeast Maryland and southeast Pennsylvania with several reports of trees and power lines down. This area of enhanced damaging winds is likely related to the strengthening low-level jet as sampled by LWX VWP (40-45 kts). Measured wind speeds have been around 45 to 55 mph across the area, and expect this to continue for a few more hours. This will bring the damaging wind threat through Wilmington and Philadelphia before the boundary layer cools and storms start to weaken later this evening. ..Bentley.. 07/17/2019 ...Please see www.spc.noaa.gov for graphic product...
