CL> Here is what Nick sent me a while back. Hope this helps. "No. I'll try to explain this as best as I can to avoid further confusion and hopefully save you a lot of headaches. BBS software or any other 3rd party software for that matter, should NEVER store any packets or files in either the DB\Queue or DB\Packets directories. When D'Bridge scans for outgoing mail, the first thing it does is scan the contents of the Netmail directory you specify. It reads all the Netmails and builds outgoing packets, compressing them as necessary (Xmail). After Netmail comes the Echomail areas, specified in the Editor-Echomail Areas screen. When the mailer does this scanning, the contents of the Queue and Packets directories are subject to change; which is why any files that are not D'Bridge related should never be placed in there. In the case of the $P2 problem you are having, again, this is most likely caused by the mailer not being able to compress or otherwise process the mail going out. So... that is why I asked you to eliminate your GAP BBS completely Pretend you do not have a BBS at all and you just have D'Bridge stand-alone. If you post a message from within the D'Bridge editor to an Echomail area and the problem persists, then it is definately your environment or D'Bridge configuration. If it works, then the problem logically is with your GAP BBS. The BBS software you use must specifically support D'Bridge or use "standard" file-attaches via Netmail *.MSG files... also known as Frontdoor mode. D'Bridge will work with all BBS software, 3rd party utils and Inter-BBS games that use Frontdoor mode. But you need to specify the directories carefully. In this case, the outgoing packets would be staged in the BBS software's outbound-directory and a Netmail is created in the directory you specified i D'Bridge for Netmail messages. That Netmail is a blank-message but has the outgoing packet file-attached and has the Kill/Sent or Truncate/Sent flag. Hope this explains this all better...
