Hi Nancy, NB> RH>> to its quirks. It will be available if we want/need another NB> RH>> cooking surface for the picnic. NB> NB>> Makes sense for him to try to get used to it before having to NB> NB>> use it on the road... And nice to have it available if NB> NB>> needed, too... RH> Quite so; we can grill quite a bit if we want to at the picnic. NB> If that's what ends up... And if the weather co-operates. We picked up a table top "fire pit" at W-M the other day, a table for it at Re-Store but it's more for pretty than for grilling. NB> RH>> thing, not really what we enjoy. I don't "do" fireworks that NB> RH>> well, especially the smoke so stayed inside when neighbors NB> RH>> started shooting them off. NB> NB>> I tend to stay inside the camp to watch the ones at the Pond, NB> NB>> mostly, since the mosquitoes can be rather fierce.... I can NB> NB>> generally see well enough to appreciate the pretty display, NB> NB>> without so much smoke, noise or bites.... RH> Inside is so much nicer! (G) NB> Safer, anyway... Very much so. Steve found out something interesting about mosquitoes the other day--they tend to prefer people with type O blood over others. His is O; he gets eaten alive. Mine is B and they ignore me, for the most part. Guess O tastes better. (G) NB> RH>> BTW, did Linda ever get her knee surgery done? NB> NB>> Yes... It was over the winter, a year and a half ago... RH> Hopefully she recovered all she wanted to from it. NB> I think so... there's issues with the other leg now, forget if it's NB> knee or hip.... Not fun. I had my last therapy session today but will continue with home exercises. He said that in time, this will become my "good" knee. Gave it a good work out walking around the sewing/quilting expo in Raleigh yesterday so it was tired today--but not hurting. It did hurt last night but woke up pain free this morning. NB> RH>> The team had some trouble with the church van while in VT but NB> RH>> were able to use alternate transportation while the van was NB> RH>> fixed. It was repaired in time for them to travel home without NB> RH>> problem. NB> NB>> That was good... Probably Steve was missed more at that point, NB> NB>> too... RH> Probably so. Probably should be thinking about replacing the van in RH> the not too distant future also. NB> Especially when it tends to have issues on long trips.... I think the noise is, they will rent for now. NB> NB>>> Another shower coming up soon...? NB> RH>> Have to ask the pastor's wife but I will be working on the quilt NB> RH>> soon. Only 2 blocks to make for the current one but will begin NB> RH>> cutting this week. NB> NB>> Might as well have it ready ahead of time if possible... RH> Shower is set for August 9; I've got pieces cut, just need to assemble RH> now. NB> Should be done in time.... Yes, I worked on it some on Tuesday, will do more probably later today and finish it next week. NB> RH>>> The cherry pie was good; blueberry will be subbed for peach. NB> RH>>> I'll do that tomorrow as the schedule is less busy than today's NB> RH>>> was. NB> NB>>> Sounds reasonable... NB> RH>> It worked out quite well. Got some more blueberries at the NB> RH>> farmer's market so will be doing something with them in the next NB> RH>> couple of days. NB> NB>> Jam...? Cobbler....? RH> Blueberry lemon bars, just eating and maybe another batch of muffins. RH> If not the latter, just freeze them. NB> All sound yummy... I made a pound cake with some of the berries (like the strawberry one I did at the Shipps in 2017)--it's maybe even better than the strawberry one was.
