Hi Nancy, NB> RH>> We're dry again here but in the low 90s. No major chances of NB> RH>> rain until next week. Steve will be hot, but dry while NB> RH>> grilling hot dogs tonight for VBS. NB> NB>> Dry is always nice when grilling.... RH> He'll be out with the VFW Chuck Wagon tomorrow and grilling for the RH> church again on Sunday. Hopefully by then we'll be down into the low RH> 90s and heat index backed off a bit. NB> Hopefully it was a bit nicer by then... It was, then the heat/humidity picked up again. The local Friday Night on White (street celebration) was not fun to work----but they did. One more day of the super hot/humid temps and on Tuesday we may not get out of the 70s, with rain. NB> RH>> Busy summer of travel? NB> NB>> Pretty much.... Made more so with the kid being finally home for NB> NB>> a few months.... June 14-21 for that first trip to get him, NB> NB>> July 3-8(or9) for my Annual Meeting at the Pond plus 4th of July NB> NB>> fireworks and more running around for the kid, RH> Sounds like fun. Other than the above mentioned for Steve, I think RH> we'll make it a quiet 4th. Try out the new grill with some burgers RH> probably. NB> I saw you explaining to Dale that the new grill is for traveling... NB> sounds nice.... Did it work nicely, then...? It has; we've used it several times so Steve could get used to its quirks. It will be available if we want/need another cooking surface for the picnic. NB> My running around for the kid ended up taking an extra day, so I NB> didn't get home until fairly late afternoon on the 10th... so I had NB> less time NB> to get ready for the family camping... 4th of July was fairly quiet NB> other than the fireworks... and there was another set on the 5th, a NB> few camps down from us (between us and Linda's)... They were all very NB> nice... We didn't go out to the local show; it's a big "event" type thing, not really what we enjoy. I don't "do" fireworks that well, especially the smoke so stayed inside when neighbors started shooting them off. BTW, did Linda ever get her knee surgery done? NB> NB>> July 13-20 for my family's camping week at Selkirk Shores SP.... NB> NB>> then a break from travel (probably) until the Picnic at the end NB> NB>> of September.... and then the Fall Meeting over Columbus Day NB> NB>> weekend... Possibly other trips to the Pond since the kid is NB> NB>> there.... RH> Sounds busier than we were last year. (G) NB> Certainly feels busy, especially at the moment... I'm answering this NB> at Selkirk Shores, ran out of time before I left... From June 14 NB> to NB> July 20th, I've been home less than 2 weeks total... 3 out of the 5 NB> Sundays away... I've been considering a trip to the Pond in NB> August, but I'll wait a little while before I do.... (G) Hopefully the family camping trip went well. It sounds like a fun time. I can understand about wanting to take some time at home before going back to the Pond; last year it felt like we didn't have that much turn around time between trips. I've enjoyed the quieter summer this year. NB> RH>>> They have the opening worship time, teaching time and then go NB> RH>>> into the program. The first 4 days end (for students) at 8; the NB> RH>>> last night goes a bit longer as families like to linger and NB> RH>>> visit over the hot dogs and chips. NB> NB>>> Ah... Sounds nice.... NB> RH>> Usually so. Having the new faucet will help clean up go easier NB> RH>> this year. NB> NB>> I'm sure it will... RH> It did; I was washing dishes while someone else dried. New faucet was RH> very much a help. NB> Very good... It has more than paid for itself in the few weeks since it was put in. NB> NB>>> Good.... It's all falling into place now.... NB> RH>> Yes, now it's all done but for the VT reset. Kids really NB> RH>> enjoyed the crafts again this year. NB> NB>> That's good.... You do have a good knack for them... Did NB> NB>> you find any that needed tweaking for VT, once you actually did NB> NB>> them with the kids....? RH> They seemed to go quite well this year. No major tweaks needed. We're RH> completly reset for 3 days in VT, partially for the other 2. I've RH> still got to write up the instructions tho, good job for tomorrow. NB> Very good... and I'm sure by now the final bit's been done, and sent NB> off to VT for their VBS... The team is home from VT now. I didn't get any paniced phone calls or texts from the one who was doing the crafts so AFAIK, all went well. The team had some trouble with the church van while in VT but were able to use alternate transportation while the van was fixed. It was repaired in time for them to travel home without problem. NB> RH>> on that to finish. Might get two blocks made also as the next NB> RH>> ones look quite easy to assemble. NB> NB>> Making good progress on those projects, I see... RH> Getting there, got 2 more blocks made today. Four more to go but RH> before we begin the assembly of the top, I'm going to get a baby quilt RH> made. Taking time now, before working on supper, to chill a bit. NB> Another shower coming up soon...? Have to ask the pastor's wife but I will be working on the quilt soon. Only 2 blocks to make for the current one but will begin cutting this week. NB> RH>>>> Agreed, just have to work on the flex for more RoM. NB> NB>>>> And hopefully that will work out soon... NB> RH>>> It's coming, bit by bit. Got an exercise to help my back (and NB> RH>>> indirectly the knee) on Friday. NB> NB>>> That sounds good... NB> RH>> A definate help! NB> NB>> You've got a good therapist there.... RH> A couple of good ones, actually. NB> A very good thing... Very good--but only 2 more visits. Been doing a lot of the ROM stuff at home, trying to get the last bit, if possible. NB> RH>>> Not likely this summer tho. Did get a batch of cherry preserves NB> RH>>> made yesterday, instead. (G) NB> NB>>> Probably a better use of the time... (G) NB> RH>> Much more so! Steve and I worked together yesterday to make a NB> RH>> cherry pie that turned out absolutly yummy. Peaches are in NB> RH>> season, all over the place, so may do a peach pie next week. NB> NB>> Both sound very yummy... RH> The cherry pie was good; blueberry will be subbed for peach. I'll do RH> that tomorrow as the schedule is less busy than today's was. NB> Sounds reasonable... It worked out quite well. Got some more blueberries at the farmer's market so will be doing something with them in the next couple of days. --- Catch you later, Ruth rchaffly{at}earthlink{dot}net FIDO 1:396/45.28 ...
