-=> Quoting Michael Loo to Jim Weller <=- JW> complaints made to the CRTC get listened to, checked out and JW> acted upon. ML> You're making an increasingly strong case for ML> emigration to Canada! It's not Utopia: we have cold weather, high taxes and extremely high alcohol taxes. I don't love taxes but I will acknowledge though that governments need high taxes to deliver a high level of services. ML> Perhaps your provider plays fair? JW> It has too! ML> I could see corporate lawyers throwing massive simian ML> wrenches into the enforcement system here. Perhaps your ML> lawyers are less smart or less predatory than ours. Or perhaps the CRTC lawyers are equally mean and nasty too and up to the task. On the internet side, they just worked jointly with the RCMP to shut down some particularly nasty spammers who were using RAT malware. The only spam I get these days is of foreign origin (including American) not Canadian. ML> If you like KFC, you'll love Popeye's. I do! I haven't been to one in ages but it has recently expanded into Canada and there are now outlets in Edmonton. Nandos too. I'll probably hit both of them the next time I'm there. That won't be for a while thing as our next trip to Alberta is only going to be as far as Roslind's "hometown" which is in fact just a tiny unincorporated community between High Level, Fort Vermilion and Le Crete. It's called Rocky Lane; you can Google Map and Wikipedi it if you care to. It has a rural community hall and a regional school with a fleet of buses, but no stores or services. They are having a community reunion at that hall on Aug 3. Lexi and Charlee will be going with us. JW> Diago who bought Seagrams from the Bronfmans JW> decided to sell off some of their lower priced, lower quality JW> products to Sazarac including Seagrams ML> Abandoning the low end? How self-destructive. For ML> the bottom line, that is. They got a ton of cash for the deal and it might give their premium brands more respectability. That's their hope anyway. (I note that Constellation Brands and Gallo have not sold off or shut down their worst brands yet though.) MMMMM-----Meal-Master - formatted by MMCONV 2.10 Title: About Zelnik Categories: Macedonia, Balkan, Pastry, Pies, Info Servings: 4 Phyllo pastry sirene cheese eggs spinach sorrel browned meat leeks rice Zelnik is a traditional pastry from the Balkans composed of thin layers of phyllo pastry filled with combinations of sirene, eggs, sorrel, browned meat, leeks and rice; in winter, the filling may also include brined cabbage and spinach, from which the dish derives its name: zelje (Macedonian) means spinach. Zelnik is served with yoghurt and its best eaten warm. Zelnik is similar to a dish popular in Turkey and Central Asia, called yesil borek (green patty) Borek. Unlike zelnik, cabbage Borek is made for holidays and festivals and is served with kefir. The crust and the layers of Borek are thicker and other spices are used. Mostly Zelnik is made with leek and sirene (white cheese). From: Wikipedia MMMMM------------------------------------------------- Cheers Jim ...
