> ML> It was at one of those gigs where people would tape "child > ML> molestor" up over the "music director" sign on his door. To > ML> the best of my knowledge nobody was challenged, investigated, > ML> or disciplined for this all, on either side. > An interesting culture... I tried to find some justification for the behaviors of both the rich patrons and the in-the-trenches musicians and found only for the latter. There's no justification ever for sexual conduct without informed consent. The rules of consent might want to be revisited at some point, but not here and now. > ML> The taste will vary based on the liquid used to dilute > ML> and the origin of the fat used to make up creaminiess. > Exactly. > ML> I myself have filled milk in recipes meant for my own > ML> consumption to cut down on the number of lactase pills > ML> I needed to use. > And that makes sense in your case.... The latest yummy, possibly reported on here before, is chocolate milk or hot chocolate made with nondairy creamer. If I add enough cocoa, it can be quite okay. > ML> Real milk has taste variations, too, largely from the > ML> feed used by the dairy but also (some say) from the > ML> breed of the cows. > That is true.... and also from when the cow is freshening... We usually > taste all those variations, too... I don't ... any more. > > ML> but what gets my ire up is that chocolate is now allowed > > ML> to contain noncocoa fats in many countries. > > That's yet another abomination.... > ML> Oh, don't you know it. And it's being countenanced in > ML> various countries, most notably in Great (or Lesser) > ML> Britain, where Cadbury and others successfully lobbied > ML> to be an exception to European purity laws. > Sigh. Those who hold up England as the home of clear-eyed rationality might take a closer look at, well, now. > > turned out to have sucralose in them... I'd run out of the supply I'd brought > ML> That is somewhat strange. Was the terminology at all > ML> different from what you are used to, and the ingredients > ML> list, what did it say? > The front label just said (x) flavored sparkling water, and the brand... > I used to get the sweetened ones for MJ, but I don't remember now > whether or not the sweetened aspect was mentioned on the label... Would you know anyone who could use them? Or you > ML> could save them for the picnic for an experiment. > The next trip into town, I did take them back, and they did give me my > money back, even on the opened bottle.... so don't need to rehome > them... If you want the experiment for the picnic, I could buy a bottle > for the purpose... (G) No need. By the way, I just tasted Zevia tonic water, Put it this way, perhaps those who can't tell or don't mind the difference are to be envied. > ML> Referring back to Kreisler and Heifetz, Itzhak > ML> Perlman says that > ML> he became the opposite of Kreisler, who would play > ML> as if saying, "Here's a beautiful tune", whereas > ML> Heifetz would demand, "You! It's just as well I didn't become a scientist, too. > ML> and Peabody, among other places. So far as I know, but I haven't seen him in years. > > ... All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt > ML> Chocolate is less fickle, as well. > Generally...
