okay, I sort of suspected that. Thanks for the confirmation.

At this point, I have not. I have not used POP3, and did not use QWK to
download.  Hmmm... what about the pre-pack QWK thing?  Could that be triggering
this behavior?

I do have SCFG->Message Options->Users Can View Deleted Messages set to Sysops
Only.  

I'm jumping back to my previous thought regarding SCFG->Message
Options->Pre-pack QWK Requirements, I have this set to LEVEL 50, so I am
wondering if the system has pre-packed the QWK and marked the emails for
deletion... but then the other configuration should still let me see those
emails, yes?

;MAIL also shows no emails, though I have no unread at this time that I know
of, but was thinking it should still show those.

What _is_ the sysop - just the account with user # 1 and access 99?  Maybe I
don't have my 'sysop' account correct, so while I have sysop access with
security level, the code doesn't really think I am the sysop ?
