Email is not stored in sub-boards. A "scan" is not going to show you your
email.

Then perhaps you already downloaded and deleted the email, perhps using POP3 or
 QWK?

That's the same message area you access with the 'R' command from the Email
menu. You can also use the ;MAIL sysop command to read *all* email on the
system or use the smbutil from the command-line.

It might be helpful if you set SCFG->Message Options->Users Can View Deleted
Messages to "Yes" or "Sysops Only". My guess is that the messages has been
marked for deletion and you can't see it because that option is set to "No".
Why was it marked for deletion? Probably because you downloaded it via QWK or
POP3 - but that's just a guess.
