Most likely the problem isn't actually fixed, but just isn't happening now.
I've definitely seem "random" crashes/exits of uifc apps (e.g. SCFG) when in
"ANSI" mode, but I usually can't reproduce it when I want to debug it. I think
the bug is still there somewhere... lurking. Likely in src/conio/ansi_cio.c.
