OK I fixed the SlyEdit issue by setting the User Default # of lines to Auto detect. SyncTerm detects 80x25 as 24 lines and conquest will not load. Changing it to 25 in User Defaults mucks up SlyEdit. As IMO SyncTerm is the go to terminal program for BBS, I don't think it is workable to expect end users to know to set their terminal to 80x28. The game should run in what ever the default setup is for SyncTerm which is 80x25, User Defaults on auto detect 24 lines. Unless I am seriously missing something here.
