Message   Jagossel    All   Help with FTN Setup...   February 23, 2019
 9:42 AM *

I am at a loss on this one. I have been trying to get a FTN node set up on my
BBS for a while now, and I'm stuck.

So far, I got BinkIT installed and it is waiting for connections. I have
port-forawrd set up on my router. At this, point, I am not ready to test this.

I did spend time in EchoCfg and got the node information set, and got the timed
events working and to run BINKOUT and BINKPOLL every hour. According to logs,
it was able to connect and pull the files without a problem. I also just
created directories on the file system where EchoCfg was expecting it to be
located.

I did set up the message area for the FTN in SCFG and it looks like it got my
Fidonet adress set up. And just now, I manually entered in the conference
identifiers in SCFG. I did make sure that the internal name matches the
internal name of the FTN conferences. I actualy imported the conference areas
that the FTN provider included with the info pack.

So, where I am now is trying to get Synchronet to tie the message area with the
network; it does not seem to tie the two together.

Am I missing something? Is there a guide on how to properly set up a connection
to a FTN node? I have been stumbling around and trying to go through the Wiki,
but I can't seem to find documentation around it.

Please bare with me, this is my first time in setting up a connection to the
FTN. So far, I was able to get QWK networks setup, installed a door game,
added/imported files, and able to customize the screens some without any
trouble. Now, I am struggling to get FTN working. :(
