It's inspired by the node.js EventEmitter, but that's about it.  Just something
 I wrote a while back that

I think he's looking at sqlite for message storage, and we would potentially be
 able to use sqlite for
arbitrary things via JS.

If certain BBS data was stored in an SQL database, then you could access it
easily from some other
program entirely external to Synchronet - node.js or otherwise - so that would
open some doors.
