Over the weekend I setup two Ubuntu 18.04.2 VM's.. One running 32bit the other 64it.. I installed synchronet from CVS on both... the 64bit VM ran as expected, however, while sbbs built successfully, it crashed with the error (illegal opcode) on the 32bit install. So, now that I know the issue is definately related to an incombatibly issue with cryptlib 3.4.5 on the 32bit OS, I am more confortable migrating to a new server as I didn't want to migrate until I was certain it was a fix.
