 EV> Howdy! Roger,

EV> I was eating at Popeye's the other day and wondered if You go there

RN> Yes. I like their breakfast, but they have gone up on its price twice
RN> this year. Not all Popeyes have breakfast available, so we are lucky
RN> it's on our side of town. My SIL likes their fried chicken and red
RN> beans and rice, but I find that Church's fried chicken is better and

 EV> Thanks for the Reply.
EV> I hardly ever eat breakfast away from home.

If I could avoid that I would. We used to have a Shoneys here that had a
wonderful breakfast buffet, but they had no businness at night because they
were located on a strip of road containing a Chili's, a couple of Japanese
restaurants, Copeland's and various fast food places. The one thing wrong with
Shoneys is their coffee tasted like it was made a day or two before with used
coffee grounds.

EV> I can't remember if I had eaten their red beans and rice, I like
EV> putting Honey on their Biscuit that comes with the Chicken.

Growing up in New Orleans, my mother cooked red beans and rice every Monday,
just like almost everyone else of that time. If you wanted to add salt, pepper
or any other condiment, you did it to suit your taste.

EV> And if lots of people in Louisiana eat there?

RN> It's a madhouse at times. Of course, I'm speaking about the local
 RN> citizens.

 EV> Local or LOCO? <GRIN>

Depends. (-:

EV> Glad to hear Popeye's business is good there.

EV> It's not my favorite place to eat, but I do like the Music.

RN> We get takeout from there. The only places I like to sit and eat are
RN> Chinese restaurants and some other types that have fried oyster
 RN> platters available. .

 EV> Pan Fried Oysters?

No. Deep-fried.

EV> I like Oyster Soup and Rolled Oysters.

I don't remember either, but it is possible I ate both at one time; especially
the oyster soup. Not sure what rolled oysters are, but I doubt they originated
 from here.

EV> I order the Mild Chicken, I don't like spicy food.

RN> I'm from New Orleans and never liked spicy food. The food there was
RN> ALWAYS season to taste when I was a younger man, so you had that
RN> choice. Some of the restaurants here don't give you a choice. You get
RN> spicy all the time whether you can stomach it or not. Those are the
 RN> places I avoid.

EV> My two favorite eating places are Mister Gatti's Pizza and Taco
 EV> Tico.

RN> We have neither one. We do have all types of pizza places just about
RN> anywhere you go here (my favorite is Pizza Hut) and we have Taco Bell
RN> (I don't like Mexican food). Is Taco Tico anything like Taco Bell?

EV> Mister Gatti's Pizza has a Buffet, I told the owner my only
EV> complaint is that every time I walk in, I waddle out.

We had a pizza buffet place called CiCi's and the prices were cheap ($5) for
anything going down the serving line, but they went out of business either due
to poor management or because of the competition they had where they were
located.

EV> Taco TIco has some different item from what Taco Bell serves. The
EV> sauce at Taco Tico tastes better than Taco Bell has.

We used to have Taco Bell/KFC in the same building here, but KFC disappeared
very recently. Probably because their chicken pieces kept getting smaller and
smaller.

EV> At Taco Bell I more often order the 7-Layer Burrito and don't put
EV> any sauce on it. But I do use their Mild Sauce on some of the
 EV> other items they sell.

EV> I will eat at either of those places depending on where I am.

Where is that?

EV> Taco Bell have many locations in this area, Taco Tico has one in
EV> Louisville, KY, and I know of another in Lexington, KY.

EV> P.S. I'm wondering if Ben Ritchey reads this echo.
EV> I'd like to know if He eats at Popeye's very often.

RN> I don't know the answer to that.

EV> If Ben doesn't read this echo I will ask Him in another echo that
EV> I've seen Him post in.

EV> You and Ben are the only people posting BBS Messages that I know of
EV> and just wanted to ask to see if the people in the State of
EV> Louisiana frequent Popeye's since Popeye's advertise they have the
 EV> Taste of Louisiana.

LOL! I wonder how they can back up that claim.

BTW, I'll probably put my BBS back up before the end of the year.

 EV> Thank You!

Anytime.
