I love what you said about programming on 16k. Not to pull out the beards and false teeth but my Dad's first computer was the Sol Terminal 20 which had... 2... K of ram. |

Classic Computers 
So the first 1K was used for
system operations and the 2nd K was used for programs and what not that
you wanted to run.
In time Dad got the Sol up to 48K and all was amazing. But even
without all that the computer had functionality and purpose.
