That must have been a relief.  Great that the doc kept the records.

That's very interesting, I'd never heard of that before.  I'd heard of animals
with thyroid problems, but never this 'pen' you mention.  And I wonder, why in
the ear?

That is so neat   It reminds me of one cat we had, a Maine Coon Cat, who
chased q-tips if you threw them   He was so funny to watch when he'd carry
the q-tips around in his mouth after chasing after them

I was reading in the news yesterday that  Cornell University's College of
Veterinary Medicine here in Ithaca, New York, showed off a litter of  7 puppies
 born after In Vitro fertilization.  IVF in Dogs had failed in other attempts
so this was a first.  Humans release mature eggs, but dogs don't.  They release
 immature eggs instead of mature eggs needed for IVF so the embryos had to be
frozen, then later and implanted in the mom dog at the right time.  The hope
being, ".. IVF technology in dogs could prove useful in everything from
conserving endangered species to removing "deleterious traits from breeds,"
with research potentially applicable to 'models for human disease' as well."
