An incorrect assumption on your part.  There are some carriers that do not
always update their phones to the latest Android release, which is why I
switched to an iPhone.  My Samsung phone is;t slated to be updated any further
since it is stuck at 4.4.1 (IIRC) and T-Mobile will not update the OS on that
model.  Come to think about it, I don't think they update any of their Android
models on a regular basis.
