Sean, SD@> Congrats on your upcoming wedding. SD@> Just remember that a set of wedding rings are the smallest handcuffs in SD@> the world. (I think it was Groucho Marx that said that.) Groucho also noted that "I was married by a judge. I should've asked for a jury". <G> SD@> Well, with my being twice-divorced, I think you should take my advice SD@> with a few grains of salt... My brother is 3 times divorced, and I know of 2 ham radio operators in the area who have been divorced 3 times (this last time to each other, and they have remarrried). With my health and financial issues right now, remarriage is the last thing on the mind of this widower. SD@> You know, that's because I was born at a very early age. I'll bet you were born naked as well. <BG> SD@> Micronet's going to turn 17 years old on September 1st. I thought it'd SD@> only have lasted a few years but much to my pleasant surprise, it's SD@> still going. It's not really busy but it comes and goes in spurts. SD@> With the BBS setup I have now, Andrew Leary is the official "assistant SD@> zone coordinator" (my right-hand man) in Micronet. I actually have him SD@> in my will to get my BBS machine. He assists me greatly in running SD@> Micronet and he's also the IBBS league coordinator for League 618. SD@> Micronet's still my pride and joy. You've done a great job with it. SD@> I'm also on the MBSE Development team. I'm supposed to be working on SD@> the documentation but working six-day workweeks since last October has SD@> kinda hampered any free time. I just bought a "new" (new to me; it's SD@> 30 years old) ham radio transceiver--a Kenwood TS-430S--for my ham SD@> shack I'm wanting to put in once it arrives...I think it's going to SD@> have to sit for a few more weeks, sigh. From what I've heard lately, the HF bands/propagation (even D-Star HF) have been horrible. I got the June, 2017 QST e-edition today, and it's the Field Day issue. The only ham radio activity I'll likely do that day is to help with a license exam session. SD@> My health has deteriorated over the years partially from age and from SD@> my own neglect so when I get home at 2:30 AM, I'm usually pretty shot. SD@> I'm lucky to peel my butt out of bed by 12:30 PM. I should be going SD@> back to days soon since production for the year is winding down fast. SD@> I'm an IT support tech at a very old multinational corporation at their SD@> sole plant in the US that makes consumer-grade riding mowers (hint: SD@> their company colors are green and yellow). I work for another SD@> multinational IT company; I'm a contractor there at my customer's SD@> plant. I've heard of peeling bananas, but peeling "buns"?? <G> SD@> I've pondered quitting the scene a few times lately due to time SD@> restraints and lack of interest but then I remember I've been running a SD@> BBS for 21 years and I can't remember life before being a sysop. The BBS is one of the few hobbies that I can still do, and enjoy...especially after recovering from 2 surgeries (that were supposed to be outpatient, but ended up being overnight stays), and 2 Emergency Room trips in under a month; all for kidney, bladder, and prostate issues...mainly related to stones. And, I don't mean "Sly And The Family Stone", either. Daryl ...
