Hi Mark,

I'm using 7z and also using 7z now as a replacement for the rar e command (to
view interiors of archives) See below for the reason for that <g>

Yes, that's the ident string for 7z one needs in external.bbb to tell bbbs it's
archive type... like zip is 00,504b.. well, actually it is 504b, bbbs requires
you to add the 00,. <g> It's correct for 7z, I tested everything today.

7z is working fine, I had some other problems last night I discovered today. I
cannot view the contents of some of the rar archives I have probably because
Rar changed over the years so some versions can't be extracted by 'new'
versions, that kind of thing. Last night I was thinking that 7z wasn't working
but the problem really was a few newer rar files.

I have 7z opening rar archives now so that's working well. What I did was
replace the rar extract command with 7z's extract in the setup here: I.E.,
instead of:

/usr/bin/rar a -ep1 -o+ -c- -ds -ed -y -cfg- %p %F

For some reason BBBS would never view the interior of a rar archive.. so that's
why I wanted to use 7z.

So now I'm using this where one would normally have the rar e [...] command:

/usr/bin/7z -trar e -y %p %F

I didn't even need the -trar switch there and it worked fine... then I decided
to add it... but there are still some rar files where even 7z can't display the
archive contents from withing bbbs's file menu. That's either a bug in BBBS or
 in rar <g>..

JK> the Util menu it shows I selected 7z, but 7z doesn't show as an option for
JK> archiver in AF command but I can select it as an archiver:

BTW, There doesn't seem to be a way to change this so far as I've found. I
have to keep looking though, there may be some file I missed that controls
that.

Take care,
Janis
