Easynews is a great USENET provider that has a fantastic Web-based 
interface.  https://www.easynews.com if you want to take a peek.  Pan is 
a modern NNTP client that is open source and runs under Linux, Windows 
and OS X (I think).  Pan is at https://http://pan.rebelbase.com/.  From 
the website: "Pan is a Usenet newsreader that's good at both text and 
binaries. It supports offline reading, scoring and killfiles, yEnc, NZB, 
PGP handling, multiple servers, and secure connections."

Pan works a lot like Gravity.

I could set up NNTP access on my system but I have to set up a NNTP 
server first.  Something I'd like to do when I have the desire to do it.  
It's not easy to do but it'd be a good backup if you can't get into the 
BBS.  You can also connect securely to my BBS via SSH if you have an 
account.
