Increasing the minimum wage devalues the dollar.  The same amount of 
work costs more money - and, of course, all other wages and all prices 
also go up.

Bernie et al are pikers, they should be pushing for a minimum wage of 
$150,000/hour, that way everybody could make more than a million 
dollars in one eight hour shift.  Of course, a loaf of bread would cost 
fifty grand...

The federal minimum wage exists because Massachusetts textile makers 
were moving their plants to North Carolina, where wages and the cost of 
living were much lower.  Massachusetts politicians didn't want "their" 
jobs moving so they pushed through the minimum wage law to eliminate 
the wage disparity.
