I think I understand what you mean. We can't just get the president we want
and expect them to fix everything without Congress & US Senate. The lack of
interest in Congress & Senate could be why we have such ridiculous people
getting elected. 

I'm guilty of it, on a local level. On the last ballot I filled out, there
were candidates for local offices who I knew nothing about. There was even
one section with a local Democrat who was running with no opponent, so I
voted for her with the logic that "If this lady wants to do the job, but
nobody else does, then why not?"
