It used to be that black folks were only three-fifths of a person.
By law.  Not even Abraham Lincoln was able to rid this country of
slavery.  In fact, he was in favor of it.

People of his day did not consider black folks as being human.
Before he became president, Lincoln wanted to round up all the
black folks in the US and send them to Guatemala so they could
have their own country.  This was mentioned in the Republican
convention of 1856.

The US Constitution had to be amended, after Lincoln's death,
in order to get rid of slavery.  And even then, slavery still
exists in the form of prisoners being paid slave wages.

Black folks did not become real people until the US Constitution
was amended to give them that right.

How long will it take before Americans begin to realize that
folks from outside the USA are also real people?
