Message   TIM RICHARDSON    MIKE POWELL   Elizabeth Warren / Pocaho   March 11, 2019

On 02-21-19, MIKE POWELL said to BOB ACKLEY:

> Ms. Warren advocates a 'wealth tax' - which is unConstitutional,
> Congress has only the power to tax imcomes, wealth is not income
> (although with the leftward bias of the courts that may change).
> Basically, she wants to take money from people who earned it and give
> it to people who didn't.

MP>Once you start doing that, you start removing the incentive to work. Once
MP>people stop working, there is no one left getting wealthy and the
MP>government can no longer pay for the freebies.

MP>I am sure you understand that, but I am also certain you are not a
MP>left-leaning politician. They do not seem to, or don't care.

You could make a very long list of those who touted `free healthcare', `free
education', `free money even to those who don't work', etc etc....but they all
have one thing in common; they almost never tell their audience that all this
`free' stuff has to be paid for somehow. They point to `the rich' as the
source of all this largess. `Make the rich pay their fair share'!

But, how much is `fair'? And there are only just so many `rich' people to
get money from. At some point money has to come from some other source besides
`the rich'.

Which leaves ordinary working taxpayers. And much of the `free' stuff will
have to be paid by higher and higher taxes.

It won't be long before we'll be like a lot of past socialist countries;
people will go to jobs and `pretend to work'....and employers will `pretend to
pay them'. Instead of walking into a food store and having a huge variety of
breads to choose from at a decent price....people will have to stand in line
for the chance to buy a single loaf or two of stale, partly moldy bread.
Dairy products will be scarce for ordinary people (not for `party' officials,
of course, only the peons).
