Yes, he did.  He was the brains, she was the talent.  They did
the night club circuit for years, long before their tv days.

Part of their act was being split or threatening to split.
But they were very much together, at least in their early years.
Before fame and fortune got to Cher.  But then, she always liked
guys.  Which can't be a bad thing.

She always loved Sonny, even long after the two of them
officially split.  Whatever issues she may have had with
him, given her public statements she never hated him a
day in her life.  Seems she was always more of a free spirit
than someone with a controlling personality.  Look at the
support she showed for her son (Chaz), who used to be a
she (Chastity).  Not all parents can do that.
