Hello Mike, >> Who says people would quit working if there is no money? >> We are moving towards a cashless society. Not just the US >> and Europe, but the entire world. MP> And you will pay for your food and shelter how? Food banks. Just pick up whatever you need whenever. Find cardboard box. Set up home on city sidewalk. Don't forget to pack can opener for use when needed. MP> This isn't prison, where the taxpayers pay that for you. Someone has to MP> pay for things or there is no motivation to create them. Don't pay the MP> farmers? They won't farm for anyone but themselves. Don't pay the MP> corporation that made the smart phone you are using? No smartphones. Artificial intelligence (robots) will be doing all the work for us. This will give everybody more leisure time to do what they want. Think about it. What is the purpose of work, but to allow us more time to do as we want? Certainly much better for us if others do the work for us, right? Especially if they do so without pay. Let's suppose the state pays all tuition for those who wish to further their education. The more education a person has, the better-paying job they get. That means more taxes for the individual to pay, which is many times over what the state has paid for tuition. Same thing for healthcare. A healthy workforce is better able to do the jobs needed to improve the economy than a sick workforce. So providing free healthcare is a winner for all. The way our economy is set up today, only the very wealthy benefit. Everybody else suffers. Much better to share the wealth so that everybody benefits rather than just a select few. MP> Sorry, even the most hardened socialists/communists in the US today are MP> going to do without their smart phones and social networking. Politicians in the US are promoting different flavors of feudalism, not capitalism, socialism, or communism. And it not just those in the US, but also those in Europe, Russia, Australia, and elsewhere. The Star Trek world is fiction. But so is the Ferengi world. What we need is a New World Order, based on freedom for everybody. --Lee -- Pork. The One You Love. --- MesNews/1.08.05.00-gb * Origin: news://eljaco.se (2:203/2) |
