If the folks we are discussing were here legally like the ones you describe above, I would not have a problem with them. I do have a problem with paying the Americans who won't take the jobs not to work, though. The area I live in there are some deadbeats but there are a lot of natives willing to do the work for whatever wage if they can get it. They are proud enough not to want full-time hand-outs. OTOH, there are a lot of young Americans out there that have been told that a college education = a job. So, they go and find something "fun" to major in that has no practical application. Then, when they get out and cannot get a high-paying job in "basketweaving," they won't take one that is "beneath them." So, they complain about how the government owes them instead. Back about 20 years ago I knew a kid near my age who pretty much did that, except he actually had a decent degree but wasn't really too motivated to get out and get a job (living with the parents still helps, I guess). He spent all his time complaining about Mexicans taking his job. I told him that around here, they all worked shoveling manure on horse farms and not in entry-level IT jobs. He thought that the Mexican taking the manure-shoveling job somehow freed up an American to take his. He never put it together that, if it was a job he wasn't willing to take, neither were any other Americans qualified to work in the field he had got a degree in.
