Hello Sean, LL>> Do you see Trump pontificating about needing a wall to protect LL>> this country from Canadians? SD> Hey, if they're armed with hockey sticks and maple syrup, I think SD> Canadians can take care of themselves. The last time we invaded Canada (burning Toronto) things did not turn out so well for Washington DC. SD> Seriously though, there's much less of a problem with illegal aliens SD> coming in from Canada to the US than Mexico to the US. Also, our SD> northern border is in many ways harder to breech than our southern one SD> geographically. Nobody wants to freeze their nuts off. Or one would think. Look at how many Muslims from Syria and Turkey have resettled in Sweden and Germany, and other places in Europe. Seems to me they are willing to dress the part. SD> I've been to El Paso a few times. A nice city to visit. Always enjoyed SD> going there. Very safe city. Not just for Americans, but also for tourists. Like any major city, there is crime. But in relation to other cities, the crime rate in El Paso is much lower. Just compare stats. The crime rate between Baton Rouge and New Orleans is probably the highest in the US. Why? Drug trafficking corridor. When the focus is on the US/Mexico border, drugs get here through Florida. When the focus is on Florida, drugs get here through the US/Mexico border. Building a wall is not the answer. What is needed is hiring more people (border patrol) and having better technology. That means increased funding. --Lee -- Nobody Beats Our Meat --- MesNews/1.08.05.00-gb * Origin: news://eljaco.se (2:203/2) |
