Ummm... Spain protects some of its borders.  Maybe not the ones with France
or Portugal, but they do the ones with Morocco.  They had a caravan of
sub-saharans charging those walls/barriers sometime within the last year or
two.

That said, I think most of those countries you listed above are members of
the EU, only border other EU countries, and don't share borders with non-EU
countries.  Not real good examples.
